Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Tally - Personal Expense Manager app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by esWizardry (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Freemium / Ad Supported service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

  • Your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
  • The screens of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those screens
  • The operating system you use on your mobile device
  • Crash reports and diagnostic data to help identify and fix issues

The Application does not collect your device’s location.

The Application stores your financial data (accounts, transactions, categories, budgets) locally on your device by default. If you choose to enable the Cloud Backup feature, your data is encrypted and uploaded to your own Google Drive account — the Service Provider does not have access to your Google Drive or to the backup files stored there.

When you use the Live Currency Rates feature, the Application sends a network request to a third-party exchange-rate service to fetch current rates. No personally identifiable information is included in this request.

The Service Provider may use the information you provide to send you important information, required notices, and updates about the Application.

Third Party Access

The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application. The Service Provider may disclose information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with their trusted service providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Cloud Backup

The Cloud Backup feature is optional. When enabled, your data is uploaded to your personal Google Drive account using the Google Drive API. The Service Provider does not store, access, or transmit your backup data through their own servers. You may revoke the Application’s access to your Google Drive at any time via your Google Account settings.

Advertising

The Application may display advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device’s settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available on your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace.

Data Retention Policy

Your financial data is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. If you enable Cloud Backup, your data persists in your Google Drive until you delete it. The Service Provider does not retain copies of your financial data on their servers. If you would like to request deletion of any other data held by the Service Provider, please contact eswizardry@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at eswizardry@gmail.com so that appropriate action can be taken.

Security

The Service Provider is committed to safeguarding your information. Your local financial data is stored on-device and is protected by your device’s built-in security. Cloud Backup data is stored in your own Google Drive account and protected by Google’s security infrastructure.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy regularly. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
